Todd i wouldn't say will win the 4th line battle handily. It won't be easy, that's not a bad 4th line by any means. Jeffrey and Adams are real solid. |

Glass is pretty terrible. That alone should be enough to cook 'em. |

Any chance they double shift someone to take his spot? I agree Glass isn't very good. I do think will win it just think it'll be a battle. But our 4th line works extremely hard not worried about it. |

how long into the game does either Crosby or malkin take a dive, to set up the 1st power play of the season? |

Gotta think Oates played a part in that decision. |

What are the expectations for Zajac moving forward: shutdown player or point producer? It's not fair to expect both--he's just not that talented (few are). - jersey1414
He gets paid to do both. It's completely fair, he needs to put up points. Otherwise we are paying 5 million+ for a john madden type of player. |

Washington play same style of D as Devils. Good move on their part. Urbom as to be on their NHL roster for this year, correct?
I guess NJ like what they saw in TC and Preseason of Gelinas, Merrill and Severson.

There are very few players in this league who are first line point-per-game guys as who also play the role of shutdown man. I can think of Toews, Datsyuk and maybe Kesler if he gets back to his old form. I like Zajac but if you think he's in the same sentence as those guys you're delusional. |

So paying Zajac first line center money to play the role of a third line center is ok? |

I don't. When did I say he needs to be as good as them? He doesn't have to be that good but he can't not score at least 20 goals this year. He's paid to produce. |

Its BS and a dman like harrold is more important to keep around than one of our better D prospects. (frank) |

Of course it's not. I just wish his role was more defined, that's all. And for what it's worth his cap hit is 5.75 which isn't necessarily first line center money...especially not in the next few years. |

Yes it is. Harold is awful and this is exactly why i was pissed he got signed. Not only does he block young defensemen who are ready and won't grow there game anymore in the AHL. But he also is now in the starting lineup and will probably be put out on the PP. How the (frank) is this possible? He's is horrendous and doesn't do anything he good. |

all we can hope for is the caps to put him on waivers and we pick him back up - K-dizzle
We obviously don't think that highly of him though. Harold is apparently better.
Hopefully will be seeing Gelinas sooner than later. |
